The Miami Herald is relocating to the former headquarters of the U.S. Southern Command in Doral. The property, which is about 158,000 square feet, will be renamed One Herald Plaza at Wespointe Business Park. The Miami Herald also purchased an adjacent six acre site which will house the company’s 119,000 square foot production building. The Herald’s parent company, McClatchy, sold its longtime property in Miami to The Genting Group for $236 million.  Genting hopes to build a $3.8 million destination resort and casino at the site. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton says she wants to step off the ‘high wire of American politics’ after two decades and is again tamping down speculation that she might stay in government if President Barack Obama wins a second term. Clinton told State Department employees on Thursday that she is ready for a rest and is paying no attention to the Republican presidential candidate debates. She said she wants to find out just how tired she is after working flat out as first lady, senator, aspiring presidential candidate and finally the top U.S. diplomat. ‘I have made it clear that I will certainly stay on until the president nominates someone and that transition can occur’ if Obama wins re-election, she told a town hall meeting. ‘But I think after 20 years, and it will be 20 years, of being on the high wire of American politics and all of the challenges that come with that, it would be probably a good idea to just find out how tired I am.’ Mail Online

Al respecto, Schkeiban exige ser reconocido como el verdadero autor y genio detrás de esta película que logró recaudar 2.800 millones de dólares. Explicó que la obra original se titula Murciélagos y Mariposas, y se trata de una franquicia creada en 1988 a partir de una novela y un guión registrado bajo derechos de autor. Por su parte, James Cameron ha decidido mantener silencio y esperar el dictamen del Tribunal Federal de California.

Passengers who survived the capsizing of the Costa Concordia off the Italian coast Jan. 13 are being offered $14,460 each, plus travel and medical expenses, for their troubles and trauma. The stricken cruise ship’s operator, Carnival Corp. subsidiary Costa Crociere, announced the deal Friday after negotiating with Italian consumer groups representing the more than 3,000 people who were herded off the ship unscathed after it hit a reef. The disaster has been widely blamed on the ship’s captain, Francesco Schettino, who apparently deviated from the ship’s route for a salute to people on a nearby island. The cruise operator’s offer to passengers could be intended to head off litigation and came just as a crew member filed the first U.S. class action suit against the company. Meanwhile, the death toll from the disaster rose to 16 this week. NBC

El actor de la serie “The Vampire Diaries” que sale desde hace seis meses con Gaga, según refiere una revista norteamericana, habría dicho a la diva que no necesita vestirse con atuendos extravagantes o hacer cosas extrañas cuando están juntos. Una fuente le dijo a la revista InTouch Weekly: “Gaga ha comenzado a vivir con su carácter las 24 horas del día, los siete días de la semana, porque ella siente que sus fans quisieron esto”. According to Travel + Leisure readers, Miami was voted the second rudest city in the U.S. Voters held that the city’s bad drivers and loud behavior made it not so nice.
