TBS Cancels ‘Lopez Tonight’
TBS (which is owned by the same parent company as CNN) has confirmed that “Lopez Tonight” is getting axed from the line-up.”TBS has reached the difficult decision not to order a third season of ‘Lopez Tonight,’” the network said in a statement. “Thursday will be the final episode of the show. We are proud to have partnered with George Lopez, who is an immensely talented comedian and entertainer. TBS has valued its partnership with George and appreciates all of his work on behalf of the network, both on and off the air.”In November of 2010, “Lopez Tonight” was pushed to midnight to accommodate Conan O’Brien’s “Conan,” a move Lopez was pleased with.”It’s going to be fantastic come November,” Lopez told Larry King in April of that year.”I am predicting that these shows will change late-night TV.”
