It seems that the one thing Sammy Sosa didn’t get for his birthday was a sense of humor. And that’s exactly what radio host Enrique Santos, so-called King of All Spanglish Media and host of his eponymous show on Univision Radio’s Miami affiliate La Kalle 98.3 FM, wanted to give him as a gift last night. Santos never had the chance. Invited as a guest to Sosa’s big birthday bash at the Fontainebleau, Santos thought he’d have a little fun with the whole Lightening Gate situation and show up at the party looking like he got locked into a spray tan booth. “I’m currently using a cream which has darkened my complexion,” Santos says. “Ironically, Sammy is going through the same process, but the cream he is using is making him white.” While on the red carpet doing interviews, Santos was approached by a publicist who asked him what he was doing, telling Santos, “You can’t make fun of him,” and ultimately kicking him out of the affair. “I explained to her that it was a special cream I was using that darkened my face and then I asked her, ‘How many women in here are wearing makeup?” but she wasn’t having it,” Santos tells us. “Was I not white enough for Sammy’s party or have the millions gotten to his head–I mean skin?”

    Le ha dado duro a Enrique que lo botaran de la fiesta, ahora se la cogido con el pobre Sammy que no tiene nada de culpa de las estupideses de Enrique. Sr Enrique si yo hago una fiesta de cumpleaños y viene un invitado a burlarse de mi pues definitivamente que lo saco, eso es logico y como te sacaron entonces fue una fiesta barata pero si te hubieran dejado entrar y gozaras de la fiesta y te trataran como no te lo merecias entonces si hablaras bien de Sammy y de la fiesta, no seas envidioso e ignorante.

    me parecio de muy mal gusto de Enrique querer ridiculizar a este personaje precisamente el dia de su compleanos y junto a personas tan importantes como sus invitado y sobre todo su familia, creo que los chistes tienen su tiempo y su lugar y considero que ese no era se equivoco Enrique.

    I was at the Sammy Sosa B-Day Party Shebang! It was a real nice as well as great orchestrated party in which everyone had a wonderful and memorable and unforgettable time!
    No one is to blame Sammy if he does not want anyone to come to his Birthday to bring any type of bad humor against him. Well done, I would have done the same thing.
    You miss a great time, and because he did what he has to do, throw you out, you have no reason to bash him in your program, even to the point to insult him in all his charities that he has done thought his life.
    He still been well like by the majority of the Dominicans that one way or another he had impacted their live, including me, as I had the opportunity to meet Sammy & Sonia and found a very humble couple tha has been together for many years and have a beautiful family together.
    Remember: Success has a lot of fathers, however failures are Orphans.

    I personally think that what you did was very ballsy and great. Sammy Sosa doesn’t need you to make a fool of him, he does it to himself every time he opens his mouth. I mean Sammy is delusional he still thinks he’s a shoe-in for the Hall Of Fame LMAO. What Dominicans need to realize is that their culture has bred them to hate themselves for being black.     The “black face” has a historical degrading meaning in American society. I think the joke was tasteless and offensive. Andres I feel that you must be a very hypocrat Cuban because am sure you would not like to see me running around Miami with a Che Guevarra shirt. Furthermore, Univision has a history of not hiring any black hispanics to host any of their shows and i think they should make a statement and suspend Mr. Santos.
