A woman who refused to leave her toilet for two-and-a-half years has spoken about why she refused to leave. Mee Yan Leong sat down on the bowl in her bathroom on March 25, 2009 and for the next 902 days, that is where she decided to eat and sleep. The 58-year-old claimed she ‘felt a force holding me down’ and said she did not understand why she felt compelled to stay in the tiled bathroom. She was completely naked throughout the ordeal and only showered a total of 18 times, according to her husband Kian Ann Ong. He said those were the only times she left the toilet bowl and would imagine that if she left people would throw stones at her or spray her with water. Mr Ong said he was the only person who had contact with his wife and she even refused to speak with their 27-year-old son Jiing Yih. Eventually Mr Ong decided to seek help and called the emergency services who took her to hospital near their home in Singapore. ‘They had to come into my flat, hold her down, then wrap her in a towel before using a wheelchair to take her to the hospital,’ said Mr Ong. He explained that whenever he tried to remove his wife from the bathroom, she would refuse and tell him that something was holding her back.

A group of scientists are making sure that the King of Pop’s name goes down as in prehistoric significance as well. A new-found species of ancient hermit crabs was recently named after the singer, not because it had a particularly unusual Moondance-like walking style, but because it was discovered on the day that he died. There is now a type of crab named Mesoparapylocheles michaeljacksoni, insuring that the singer will not just be examined for his dance moves. The now-famous crab was discovered by a group of international scientists on June 25, 2009- the day when Jackson died.

A mother has spoken of her horror at discovering that her baby daughter was found with a mouse in her mouth while playing at a daycare centre. Eight-month-old Alanah Barba has now been removed from the preschool in Newark, New Jersey where her relatives believe she should have been more closely supervised. ‘She could have swallowed it,’ said her mother Brittany Barba. ‘And – God forbid for saying it – she could have died.’ Alanah was apparently discovered by preschool assistants playing with what they thought was a toy – but they quickly realised it was in fact a mouse. Her family say they believe the mouse was dead when Alanah found it. Preschool assistants used water and soap to wash her hands and mouth, but Alanah’s relatives say she should have been taken to ER. En concreto, difundir chismes sobre alguien que se porta mal, según el trabajo de los investigadores, es especialmente beneficioso cuando divulgamos comportamientos de alguien que explota a una tercera persona.”Cuando vemos que alguien se porta mal, sentimos frustración y ser capaces de contar a otros lo que hemos visto nos hace sentir mejor”. The city of Chicago marked its first 24 hours without a shooting or a murder in almost a year. Since her notorious acquittal last July over the murder of her two-year-old-daughter, Casey Anthony has all but vanished. But now sources have said the 25-year-old, known for her drinking and hard-partying lifestyle, may be hiding out in a Florida Church under the wing of a pastor.  Clues in recent and mysteriously released ‘video dairies’ by the so-called ‘Tot Mom’ also indicate that she may be living with a family. According to the Daily Beast, sources said that she is living at the Cross Church of Palm City, a remote community along Florida’s central Treasure Coast. Its pastor, Steve Camp, is believed to have not only given Anthony a home but has also been acting as her spiritual adviser. Each entrance to the church compound of several buildings is flagged with ‘No Trespassing’ signs and strung with chain.
