Trayvon Martin had traces of the marijuana chemical THC in his system the night he was shot and killed by George Zimmerman, an autopsy report showed. The autopsy was included in a batch of evidence released by Florida’s State Attorney’s Office Thursday afternoon. Earlier reports from Martin’s autopsy indicated that the 17-year-old died of a wound from a single bullet fired from intermediate range and noted that he had a small abrasion on his left ring finger. The documents also included a photo of Zimmerman taken the night of the shooting. A police officer noted that “Zimmerman appeared to have a broken and bloody nose and swelling of his face.” Zimmerman has contended that he shot Martin because the teen was attacking him and that he feared for his life. Another document included an account from a witness who said he saw a fight between two men, heard a gunshot, and then saw the person who had been on top during the fight laid out on the grass as if he had been shot.
