Her sister Khloe insists that Kim Kardashian’s relationship with Kanye West is not serious just yet. But the 34-year-old rapper’s outing with girlfriend Kim and the entire Kardashian clan this evening certainly says otherwise. Kanye, who recently started dating the 31-year-old reality star, accompanied the whole family to the opening of Kourtney’s boyfriend Scott Disick’s restaurant where their every affectionate moment could be captured by the cameras. The couple arrived together holding hands, their first public declaration that they are in a relationship together. The action was to say the least a rather large sign that the singer is moving ahead with his relationship with the curvy star quickly.
A father and son duo are facing charges of promoting prostitution through an elaborate ring that shipped prostitutes from Pennsylvania to New York where the pair arranged for black cab drivers to help arrange trysts. Vincent George Sr., 55, and his son Vincent George Jr.,33, both of whom are based out of Allentown, Pennsylvania, were arrested earlier this month and now face their arraignment this week, which is supposed to detail a multi-decade scheme. The prostitutes were tattooed with their pimp’s names and at least one had a bar code tattoo as a way to declare the men’s ‘ownership’ of the women. The case has echoes of Spanish prostitutes who were tattooed with barcodes earlier this year as the practice appears to become more widespread.
Floridians can now sign up for free to the state Do Not Call registry, Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam announced Monday. The program protects Floridians from unsolicited phone calls to their residential, mobile or paging device telephone numbers to the Florida Do Not Call program.“Last year, we heard complaints from nearly 20,000 consumers about telemarketing,” Putnam said. “Now, we’re able to offer protection from unsolicited calls to Floridians at no cost.” The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services maintains the state’s Do Not Call list, which is updated quarterly and available to solicitors upon request. It is illegal for solicitors to make telephone calls to phone numbers listed on Florida’s Do Not Call list and can face up to $10,000 per violation, said press secretary Sarah Criser. The fee for subscription was removed during the recent session of the Florida Legislature. Previously, Floridians had to pay $10 to sign up and $5 for renewal. But now consumers can register for free at www.fldnc.com. The federal government also had its own Do Not Call list.
Boyband singers Liam Payne and Harry Styles fear they may have picked up chlamydia after visiting a sanctuary in Brisbane. Up to 80 per cent of the koalas in Australia are infected with the STD — and 18-year-olds Liam and Harry have been warned they could be carrying it after cuddling three-year-old marsupial Kat. Stunned Liam said: “I’m genuinely scared. This is worrying. I’d have never picked the thing up if I’d known.” The vast number of koalas with chlamydia — which can cause infertility — has raised concerns that the species could die out in just a few decades if a vaccine is not found. A minority have the strain which can be passed to other species, but transmission to humans is unlikely. But despite fears the condition could affect him, Liam seemed happy to discuss his love life yesterday.
For computer users, a few mouse clicks could mean the difference between staying online and losing Internet connections this summer. Unknown to most of them, their problem began when international hackers ran an online advertising scam to take control of infected computers around the world. In a highly unusual response, the FBI set up a safety net months ago using government computers to prevent Internet disruptions for those infected users. But that system is to be shut down. The FBI is encouraging users to visit a website run by its security partner, http://www.dcwg.org , that will inform them whether they’re infected and explain how to fix the problem. After July 9, infected users won’t be able to connect to the Internet. Most victims don’t even know their computers have been infected, although the malicious software probably has slowed their web surfing and disabled their antivirus software, making their machines more vulnerable to other problems.
