Mark Wahlberg and brother Donnie set to open up beefcake restaurant chain Wahlburgers
Former popstars turned now actor brothers Mark and Donnie Wahlberg are opening a chain of restaurants called Wahlburgers. The only problem was, Tom Wahl from Rochester has federal trademark rights to the Wahlburger name – which to anyone in the area knows is a belt-loosening sandwich of ground beef patty, grilled ham, lettuce, melted Swiss, Wahl sauce and a seeded bun. But when the Wahlberg brothers, along with their chef-restaurateur brother Paul, decided they wanted to open a chain of drive-in style restaurants, they entered into a licensing agreement with Tom Wahl. Executives with Tom Wahl’s tell the Democrat and Chronicle that the brothers from Boston have licensed the Wahlburger name from the company so they can use it when they open the restaurant in their hometown of Hingham, Massachusetts, and then further afield.
