Ashton Kutcher took to Twitter on Wednesday to slam rumors that he cheated on wife Demi Moore. “I think Star magazine calling me a “cheater” qualifies as defamation of character. I hope my lawyer agrees,” he wrote. “STAR magazine – you don’t get to stand behind “freedom of the press” when you are writing fiction.” Star  reported that an eyewitness saw Ashton “kissing and groping a hot young blonde by an out-of-the-way bathroom at Italian restaurant Madeo in L.A.”"Ashton had this gorgeous girl pinned against the wall, and he was totally making out with her,” the source told Star. “I was shocked to see him sucking face with a girl who obviously wasn’t Demi.” Ashton’s rep denied the story.(HuffPost)

A young woman in India was forced into a marriage she didn’t agree with by her parents, so she followed what she felt to be the only logical course of action: she got a sex change. The woman, who is in her mid-thirties and a lawyer, was quoted as saying, “It is better to become a man to get rid of sufferings met by women.” This simple yet powerful declaration clearly calls to mind the tradition of arranged marriages in Indian tradition, a sad fact of life for the many, many women that live in India. Despite this, India has an incredibly low rate of divorce, with less than 2% of all marriages, arranged or otherwise, ending in divorce. Compare that to America’s, where roughly half of all marriages come to an end, typically with her getting the dog she hates. According to the Times of India, surgeons were compelled to perform the operation after she threatened to commit suicide. According to an unnamed source, however, it is believed the woman had the surgery, which was performed on June 29th, not just to escape a forced marriage, but because she was seemingly committed to spending the rest of her life another woman. Save for the duplicitous circumstances surrounding the surgery, seems like an ideal way to get out of something. I mean, I’d rather flee the country, but hey, sex change is cool, too.(WeirdAsiaNews)

NEW YORK (AP) – A New York City man who plunged 40 stories from the rooftop of an apartment building has survived after crashing onto a parked car. Witnesses and police say 22-year-old Thomas Magill jumped from the high-rise at West 63rd Street on Tuesday. He landed in the backseat area of a Dodge Charger after crashing through the windshield. He suffered broken legs. Police say he’s in critical condition. The car’s owner, Guy McCormack, of Old Bridge, N.J., told the Daily News he’s convinced that rosary beads he kept inside the Dodge saved Magill’s life. Police are investigating why Magill jumped from the building Magill isn’t the only New Yorker to survive a high-rise fall. Window washer Alcides Moreno fell 47 stories from the roof of a skyscraper in December 2007, and doctors expected him to walk again.

That’s the best they could come up with? Conan O’Brien’s new late-night TBS show will be called “Conan,” the cable network announced yesterday. The show, which kicks off Nov. 8, will air every Monday through Thursday at 11 p.m., leading into “Lopez Tonight,” which moved to a later timeslot to accommodate “Conan.” TBS will air movies at 11 p.m. every Friday. “Conan” marks O’Brien’s return to TV after his seven-month tenure hosting NBC’s “Tonight Show” ended in January.(NYPost)

The pole-dancer wife of accused Ponzi schemer Ken Starr claims private eyes for Wesley Snipes have been stalking her in a bid to find evidence to clear the actor of tax charges. Diane Passage tells us that two detectives working for Snipes — a former client of Starr, who testified against the actor — followed her from her Upper East Side building dubbed “The Ponzi Palace,” also home to Andrew Madoff. The buxom brunette said the investigators contacted her lawyer saying they wanted her to help clear Snipes, who faces a three-year prison sentence for tax evasion.(NYPost)

Don’t start rolling out the welcome mat for Tiger Woods just yet. Though Us Weekly reported that the horny golfer had moved into an apartment downtown — pinpointed by the Daily News yesterday on Hudson Street — real-estate sources say it’s either wishful thinking or a stunt pulled by a landlord to promote his building. “No way Tiger would live there,” one broker told The Post. “It’s an ’80s conversion, run-down, with leaky ceilings.” If it really was Tiger who was spotted moving boxes in from a BMW, brokers say he might have been helping a girlfriend. “It would have to be a mistress he doesn’t care about.” Another broker said, “If he does live there, it means his wife took every penny he has and he’s at the end of his rope.” Non-real-estate sources are equally skeptical and point out that Woods has always gone out of his way to avoid the city and stayed on his yacht, The Privacy, when the US Open was played at Bethpage. “He hates it in New York,” said one observer. “Why would he come here when he needs his privacy more than ever? Más allá del amor que existió entre ellos y más allá del cariño y el respeto que se profesan sus respectivas familias, entre Luis Fonsi y Adamari López existe un vínculo más grande y poderoso que todavía los une y que ha hecho prácticamente imposible que se pongan de acuerdo para que de una vez y por todas estampen sus firmas en el documento que los declararía oficial y legalmente divorciados.

Ni piense que se trata de algo material. Cada uno de ellos por su parte ha generado suficiente dinero, a base de mucho trabajo, para vivir bien y seguir adelante por caminos separados.

El verdadero motivo para que la actriz y el cantautor, que una vez fueron la pareja de ensueño de la farándula boricua y latinoamericana, estén enfrascados en un impasse descansa en un laboratorio en Nueva York.

Son nada más y nada menos que los óvulos fertilizados que en realidad constituyen los potenciales hijos de Adamari y Fonsi.

Una fuente muy allegada a la pareja de artistas confirmó a Primera Hora que tal y como el mismo matrimonio le confesara a la revista People en Español en el 2006, cuando la actriz fue diagnosticada con cáncer de seno, éstos buscaron alternativas para procrear hijos, una vez ella se recuperara de la terrible enfermedad.

Aunque la pareja pudo optar por que los óvulos de López y el esperma de Fonsi fueran congelados individualmente, para ser unidos después, al final decidieron unir los mismos y congelar varios óvulos fertilizados, lo que podría describirse como un potencial hijo de ambos que está a la espera de ser descongelado e implantado en el vientre de Adamari o en el de una madre subrogada.

En octubre de 2006, la pareja reveló a la revista People en Español sus planes para convertirse en padres. Cita la publicación que “luego de terminar el tratamiento médico tras la mastectomía a la que se sometió este año, y previo a que la actriz iniciara la quimioterapia, la pareja se sometió a un tratamiento donde fueron extraídos los óvulos de López y fertilizados in vitro con el esperma de Fonsi”, reza la publicación.

En la misma entrevista, Fonsi es citado abundando sobre el procedimiento: “Fue un proceso largo. Dos semanas enteras en Nueva York, ella tenía que inyectarse, a mí me tuvieron que hacer mil cosas también”.

De acuerdo con la publicación, la pareja tenía proyectado el 2008 como el año en el que ella buscaría quedar embarazada.

Cónsono con esta información para el mismo mes de octubre de 2006, Adamari concedió una entrevista a la reportera Bárbara Figueroa, de Primera Hora, en la que hablaba del procedimiento mediante el cual se congelaron sus óvulos en una clínica de fertilización de Nueva York.

“Estuve allí un mes, sometida a un tratamiento de medicamentos. Después que congelaron los huevitos, fue que comencé la quimioterapia”, dijo entonces la artista.

La razón para congelar sus óvulos antes de comenzar su tratamiento contra el cáncer de seno, es porque la quimioterapia afectaría su capacidad para concebir en el futuro.

De hecho, en esa ocasión López reveló también que “mi cáncer se alimenta del estrógeno y la progesterona”, lo que hacía más peligroso para ella el intentar quedar embarazada. Esto porque el nivel de estas dos hormonas aumentan en el cuerpo durante el embarazo.

Entonces, ahora el dilema entre el aún matrimonio es el futuro de esos óvulos fertilizados. Para Adamari, éstos son la única esperanza de tener un hijo genéticamente suyo.

Para Fonsi, esos óvulos son también sus hijos, pero de nacer ahora serían de su futura ex esposa; lo atarían de por vida con Adamari y él aún podría considerar ser padre en el futuro con otra pareja.

A todo esto se suma el debate moral, religioso y científico que surge ante el futuro de estos óvulos fertilizados, ya que en potencia son seres humanos por nacer.

Este dilema, sin duda, pica y se extiende.
