Those are obviously flares. Remember, we have a lot of military activity in the keys due to the close proximity of the Naval Air Station in Key West Now another thing is flares are not necessarily red. The military uses them for a large variety of reasons depending on the mission. They come in a variety of different colors, sizes, duration, and design. Some of them are aircraft deployed, others are mortar or artillery fired, m203 grenade launcher fired, etc. Anyway, those lights are not aliens. I was in the military and I will see them all the time during training here in the states and while deployed in Iraq. But it is nice to scare the cr@p out of people sometimes.
