Disney announced their first Latina princess to the company’s group of fictional royalty, but her portrayal is causing controversy. Pictures of the character show that the princess, named Sofia, has fair white skin, light brown hair, and blue eyes, prompting critics to say that she looks more Caucasian than Hispanic. The normal-girl-turned-princess is the main character on an upcoming Disney Channel television series called Sofia The First: Once Upon A Princess but she will debut in a TV movie this November as a primer.
