He has been buried alive, frozen in an ice cube, trapped in a glass box for a week and submerged underwater – and now David Blaine is going electric. The US illusionist and fearless daredevil is preparing for what even he admits is his toughest stunt yet- standing three days and three nights in the middle of a million volts of electric currents. But after years of taking himself to the brink of death and back, David, 39, tells the Mail that becoming a father has finally helped him realise that he may not be superhuman after all.Now a proud father to 20-month-old daughter Dessa with his fiancée, French model Alizee Guinochet, David has revealed how he has scrapped an idea for another trail-blazing stunt – and has taken more precautions than ever for his new illusion, called Electrified.Speaking before he scales a pillar at Manhattan’s Pier 54 by the Hudson River today – his resting place for the next three days – David told the Mail: ‘Becoming a dad, of course, it changes you now have a purpose in life. ‘She knows what I do and she actually loves it. She loves to watch when I’m in a fishtank or doing this.’ Dessa is derived from the Greek classical name Odysseus  – apt for her adventurous father as it is translated as ‘wandering’ – but when asked for its meaning, David said: ‘It means the world!’ With his almost translucent green eyes glinting, the magician laughed: ‘I hope she never wants to do anything like this. ‘So yeah I think differently about what I’m doing and this time we have a very serious team and I feel very confident that I’ll pull this off and be perfectly fine at the end.
