KFC Thailand has issued an apology after being criticised for a Facebook message that urged people to rush home during Wednesday’s tsunami scare and order a bucket of KFC chicken. As people were being urged to evacuate from beach areas, the company posted this message: ‘Let’s hurry home and follow the earthquake news. And don’t forget to order your favorite KFC menu.’ It prompted hundreds of angry comments on a variety of Thai web forums that denounced the company as insensitive and selfish. By Thursday the message was removed and replaced by one that asked for forgiveness.

When the itching becomes too much, it’s not surprising many of us reach for a remedy after an insect bite. But the medicine could be simply a waste of both time and money. Research suggests that most victims of home-bred midges, mosquitoes, flies, bedbugs and fleas will get better without any treatment at all. It admits that getting bitten may be horribly uncomfortable but there is little evidence that over-the-counter remedies work.  Putting a cold compress to relieve pain and swelling could be a better option.  That was the verdict of the Drug and Therapeutics Bulletin, which offers impartial advice to doctors. Its review of evidence found that, in most cases, no treatment was needed as the reaction was so mild.

Heat guard Dwyane Wade says money is not his motivation for the London Games this summer. In a statement Thursday, Wade said, “I do not want to be paid to go to the Olympics.” Wade was quoted Wednesday saying he thinks “guys should be compensated” for playing over the summer and noted the schedule demands of being an Olympian. He said he was responding to a question about Olympians being paid, and never said he needed to be paid to play.  Wade later tweeted that pride for his country “motivates me more than any $$$ amount.” Wade played for the U.S. at Athens in 2004 and Beijing in 2008, and has said the London Games would be his last.

And that’s precisely why government censors in China ruled one of the blockbuster’s steamier scenes had to go. The immortal sequence in which Jack, played by Leonardo DiCaprio, paints Kate Winslet’s character Rose in the nude has been butchered for Chinese audiences. An official at the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television said: ‘Considering the vivid 3D effects, we fear that viewers may reach out their hands for a touch and thus interrupt other people’s viewing. ‘To avoid potential conflicts between viewers and out of consideration of building a harmonious ethical social environment, we’ve decided to cut off the nudity scenes.’ a blog about the country’s internet culture, quoted one commenter as saying: ‘I waited 15 years to see 3D boobs, not 3D iceberg.’

There has been much toing and froing as to whether or not Britney Spears will in fact sign on to join on The X Factor USA for its second season. One month ago, the superstar singer turned down a whopping $10million to become a part of the judging panel on the hit show. But now it seems she has been offered a number she is much more comfortable with. The star has reportedly negotiated a $15million fee – which is even more than Jennifer Lopez haggled to appear on American Idol. According to E! Online, multiple sources have confirmed that the singer is in the final stages of hashing out a contract.

Marc Anthony has finally filed for divorce from Jennifer Lopez …Marc cites “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for divorce. In the papers, filed April 9 in L.A. County Superior Court, Marc is asking for joint legal and physical custody of the couple’s twins, Emme and Max — who are 4 years old. Marc wants the judge to shut the door on Jennifer if she asks for spousal support. Marc does not list a specific date of separation, but the couple announced their split back in July. They married in 2004.   This will be Jennifer’s 3rd divorce and the numero dos for Marc. He wants each party to foot the bill for their own attorney’s fees. TMZ

Charles Manson, one of America’s most notorious mass murderers, was denied parole today in his 12th and possibly final bid for release from a California prison. Manson, 77, who has not attended parole hearings in recent years, was not present for the review of his case by the state board at Corcoran State Prison where he is serving a life term. The Corrections and Rehabilitation Department said Manson would next be eligible for parole in 15 years, when he would be 92 years old.

Jennifer Lopez is drawing a line in the sand — paying nearly a grand to rent out a public beach in L.A. last weekend … to keep randos away from her family and children.  Sources tell TMZ, Jennifer forked over $925 to the city of Long Beach to rent out Marine Beach on Saturday — 3,400 feet of shoreline — just for her, her kids, her BF Casper Smart and other family and friends. To keep out the riffraff, we’re told lifeguards marked off the water using buoys — and kept the beach gates locked. We’re told J.Lo and co. brought their own jet skis for awesome fun times — and even hired a wakeboard instructor. Meanwhile, a bunch of sad locals stayed home and played with dirt. TMZ

The bizarre incident happened at about 8.45am this morning when the woman was caught illegally smoking a cigarette at an airport departure gate. Airport workers told the woman to put out the cigarette – at which point she took off all her clothes. It is not clear why she chose to remove her clothes in full view of everyone around but local police said that the cigarette issue was unrelated. Still standing in just her birthday suit the woman then asked an official to reprint her boarding pass for her. A photo obtained by TMZ shows the woman totally in the nude with her back to the check-in desk. A fellow passenger keeps his eyes firmly averted from the lady who has a pile of clothing at her feet.  The woman was eventually taken to a hospital for assessment. She was not arrested and faces no charges.
