La empresa canadiense Celebrity Gene venderá collares con el ADN del cantante canadiense Justin Bieber, a través de su página en Internet. El accesorio fue elaborado a partir de mechones de pelo del intérprete de “Boyfriend”, de donde la empresa obtuvo la información genética. De acuerdo al sitio Radar Online, los collares contarán con una cadena de plata y estarán a la venta por la suma de 118 dólares. Según explicó un vocero de Celebrity Gene al referido portal, la idea es “que todos los preadolescentes puedan tener uno y llevar por siempre a Justin”. Además, se refirió a las razones por las que eligieron a la joven estrella: “hemos obtenido el ADN del cabello debido a la demanda popular. Nos gusta porque es canadiense y pasó de ser un chico de YouTube a una superestrella internacional”, finalizó.

A Mid-South mother has been banned from Facebook for the photos she posted of her newborn son. Grayson James Walker was born on February 15, 2012.  He was born with Anencephaly, a rare neural tube birth defect in which a baby is born without parts of the brain and skull.  Action News 5 shared the Walker’s story about their sons eight hours of life shortly after he died. Heather Walker recently posted pictures of Grayson without his hat on. “Not long after, Facebook deleted them because of the content” she said.  “They allow people to post almost nude pictures of themselves, profanity, and so many other things but I’m not allowed to share a picture of God’s beautiful creation.” Walker and her Facebook friends decided to re-post baby Grayon’s photos in protest, and the mother is now on a 24-hour ban from the social networking website. According to Facebook’s community standards page, there are nine types of content that may be deemed offensive and removed: Violence and Threats, Self-Harm, Bullying and Harassment, Hate Speech, Graphic Violence, Nudity and Pornography, Identity and Privacy, Intellectual Property, Phishing and Spam. Walker says her photos of Grayson do not fall into any of those categories. “I see all kinds of stuff, women’s body parts, almost nudity, which is one of their standards, people cursing each other out, just profanity,” said Walker. Amazed at the amount of support she’s received from all over the country, Walker says the photo is raising awareness. “Just in two days, all these people have messaged me telling me how much God has used Grayson’s life to touch them and to work in their hearts and to make them appreciate the children they have, that they have healthy children,” she explained. But not all messages have been in favor of the photos and to those people, Walker says they can friend her on Facebook at their own discretion. “If you’re my friend and you want to see the picture then look at it, but if you don’t, just like any TV show or anything else you watch, if you don’t want to see it you don’t have to,” said Walker.  “But I want to share this with people just like any other person wants to share their baby or their child.”

Sex on the beach is apparently not only a delightful cocktail, but also the pastime of choice for most Americans, according to a recent survey. A survey commissioned by the romantic social network Zoosk.com has found that almost three quarters of men and women between the ages of 18 and 49 say that things are better in the bedroom when they are away from home. The survey questioned 1,529 adults and found that 22 per cent believe that tropical vacations were the most romantic type of getaway. For 19 per cent of those polled, a trip to a romantic city like Paris or Rome trumps a beach vacation. A cruise and a trip to an  exotic, far-flung spot earned 15 per cent each from the participants of the survey, while nine per cent said they prefer a stay in at a cosy bed and breakfast. Skywatchers from Mount Fuji to the Grand Canyon enjoyed a treat: the moon nearly blotting out the sun to create a dramatic ‘ring of fire’ over a narrow strip of eastern Asia and the western United States. The annular eclipse, in which the moon passes in front of the sun leaving only a golden ring around its edges, was visible in Asia early Monday. It then moved across the Pacific – and the international dateline – and was seen in parts of the western United States Sunday afternoon. In Japan, ‘eclipse tours’ were arranged at schools and parks, on pleasure boats and even private airplanes. Similar events were held in China and Taiwan as well, with skywatchers warned to protect their eyes. In the U.S., viewing parties were held at observatories in Reno, Nevada, and Oakland, California, and elsewhere. In some areas, special camera filters for taking photographs have been sold out for weeks in anticipation of the big event. People from Colorado, Oklahoma and as far away as Canada traveled to Albuquerque to enjoy one of the best vantage points at a park on the edge of the city. Members of the crowd smiled and cheered and children yelled with excitement as the moon crossed the sun and the blazing halo of light began to form. Some watched the eclipse by placing their viewing glasses on the front of their smartphones.

Jackie Chan, el ícono de las artes marciales, se retirará definitivamente de las películas de acción. Así lo anunció el actor, de 58 años, durante la proyección de su cinta “Chinese Zodiac” en el Festival de Cine de Cannes; junto con asegurar que “ésta es mi última película de acción.” Al respecto, admitió que “tengo consciencia de que ya no soy joven, y que estoy realmente cansado, y el mundo está demasiado violento en estos tiempos, aunque mi dilema es que me gusta la acción pero me desagrada la violencia.” Sobre sus planes a futuro, confesó que “me gustaría asumir roles más serios en las películas, y convertirme en el Robert De Niro asiático, porque no quiero ser una estrella de películas de acción, sino un verdadero actor.”

The first-ever transgender contestant to compete in the Miss Universe Canada pageant has lost her bid to win the title. Jenna Talackova, 23, competed with 61 contestants on Saturday night. She was among the final 12 contestants. Talackova, who was born a male, underwent a sex change four years ago. The Vancouver, British Columbia, native was initially denied entry to Canada’s pageant because she was not a natural-born female. Ms Talackova, who had the sexual reassignment surgery at the age of 19, sparked a heated gender debate in March after she was thrown out of the competition. She had already reached the finals of the Miss Vancouver pageant before officials stepped in after it was claimed she lied on her application about her natural-born gender. The only requirement stated on the Miss Universe Canada website is that to enter, women must be a Canadian citizen and between the ages of 18 and 27. The application form makes no mention of rules regarding sexual reassignment surgery.
