A survey of over 5,000 American singles has revealed that Republicans have a better time in the bedroom than their Liberal counterparts. Match.com’s Singles in America poll revealed that although conservatives have less sex than Democrats, they climax almost every time, compared to just 40 per cent of the time for Democrats. The reason behind this, the online dating giant reveals, is because it is not just their Republican politics that are conservative. When choosing a partner, supporters of the GOP showed a pattern of looking for people of a similar socio-political background who believe in marriage.  Liberals on the other hand prioritised a sense of humour, individuality and equality in their relationships. Led by an evolutionary biologist, a sex therapist, and experts at the Institute for Evolutionary Studies at Binghamton University, Singles in America is claimed to be the largest comprehensive study of singles ever.

A survey has revealed that three quarters of people have texted, emailed, played with apps or used the internet – all while sitting on the loo. In fact, it would appear a Smartphone might well have overtaken a magazine as the past time of choice for when nature calls. In a study of mobile phone habits, about 75 per cent of those questioned admitted to surfing the web, using apps, emailing and texting while in the toilet – with more than 90 per cent saying they had returned calls. According to the website Wtop.com, one in five men said they had participated in conference calls while sitting on their porcelain throne – seemingly unfazed by the prospect of accidentally activating the iPhone FaceTime video feature or the potential for people to hear dubious noises coming from the cubicle.

Donald Trump’s big tease over the 2012 presidential race ended today as he endorsed Mitt Romney in Las Vegas. It represented something of a coup for Mr Romney by underlining the sense that he is the probable Republican nominee. In addition, it is likely to enrage Newt Gingrich, still reeing from a landslide loss to Mr Romney in the Florida primary. Mr Gingrich went to great lengths to meet Mr Trump last year and beg for his backing. ‘Mitt is tough, he’s smart, he’s sharp,’ Mr Trump said. ‘He’s not going to allow bad things to continue to happen in this country we all love. So, Governor Romney, go out and get ‘em. You can do it.’ ‘I’ve had some success in the private sector. Not quite as successful as this guy, but successful nonetheless,’ Mr Romney said. ‘There are some things you just can’t imagine happening in your life. This is one of them.’ The multi-millionaire real estate mogul and reality television host spent much of last year suggesting he was intending to run for the Republican presidential nomination. As recently as Sunday, he hinted he might launch an independent run.

Ashton Kutcher visited Demi Moore yesterday and just hours later the Charlie’s Angels star’s other ex husband was also spotted checking in on her. Bruce Willis visited the LA home the actress shares with their three daughters Rumer, 23, Scout, 20, and Tallulah, 17. The actor is said to have pleaded with Demi to seek help before she announced she was divorcing Ashton in November, but his advice fell on deaf ears, it has been reported. A source said: ‘He was worried about her and wanted her to get better. Many of her friends did the same thing, but she just wouldn’t listen,’ People magazine reports. Demi is recovering from her recent collapse and her girls are understood to be in struggling in the wake of their mother’s dramatic downward spiral. The 49-year-old, who was barely eating, partying and struggling with insecurities, has particularly been leaning on her eldest daughter for comfort and companionship in recent months. The Die Hard actor looked concerned as he pulled into the property in his black SUV. At first glance, there is nothing untoward and the image has divided the internet between the people who can see it, and those who cannot. Once it is pointed out, however, it is difficult to take your eyes away from the face that suddenly becomes clear. The origins of the picture are unclear, but it’s possible that it was actually created by someone hiding behind the cushion while being photographed. Or it could be something that somebody has been created using Photoshop.  However it was made, it is hard to look away or get the image out of your head.
