Actress Gabrielle Union got in a tangle after TSA agents forced her to have her hair weave patted down. The Bring It On star’s hair prompted a security alert at the airport after it is thought to set off body scanners. ‘Ma weave got ”flagged” by the bodyscan at security. TSA required a hair patdown,’ she wrote on Twitter on Wednesday. No lie…they coulda just asked if it was the temple hair.’The 39-year-old, who is NBA star Dwyane Wade’s long term girlfriend, added: ‘If human hair & thread sets off the bodyscanner…a lot of folk jus ended up on the ‘watch list.’ It’s a weave not terrorism.’One of Union’s followers on the social networking site wrote that only African American security agents understand weaves.But Union replied, ‘Girl it WAS a black female TSA agent!’ When Union was finally allowed to board the plane she tweeted: ‘Bout to take off…hopefully my weave doesn’t cause turbulence…its clearly very powerful.’ And after she got off the flight, she added, ‘Came home 2 a dead bird whod flown n2 the glass…I suspect my weave had something 2 do w/ the bird murder #killerweave.’ It is the latest in a string of embarrassing incidents for the TSA (Transportation Security Administration), which has been accused of being over-zealous and lacking common sense.
