ANOTHER married politician forced to apologise to his wife and family after new sexting row

A politician from Louisiana has admitted just weeks after the Anthony Weiner scandal that he also ‘sexted’ pictures to a female. City Councilman Joe Stagni, 47, from Kenner City said that he had an affair with a colleague and sent her the picture of him in his vest. But the sleazy picture was forwarded to another female employee before it emerged on the city computer system. Stagni made a public confession over the picture this week after controversy over similar pictures engulfed former U.S. representative Weiner. Wenier has been forced to resign as a New York congressman and his marriage to former Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin has been hanging in the balance.

The moment Nato helicopter killed suicide bombers hiding on roof

A helicopter hovers over the hotel and in the next moment a trace of fire is seen hitting the roof. Seconds later a huge explosion rips apart the roof of the InterContinental, killing three Taliban suicide bombers who had launched a commando assault on the building. The siege, however, was still not over. Some hours later the last insurgent blew himself up in a hotel room. Officials said today that eleven civilians were killed in the assault that has sent shock waves through the Afghan capital. As the sun came up, smoke still spewed from the devastated roof of the Intercontinental. The attack on a five-storey, Western-style hotel in the capital raised doubt about the ability of Afghan security forces to take charge of securing the nation from foreign combat forces. The assault began at around 10pm yesterday eight suicide attackers killed the guards and entered the building. Daily Mail

4 Jailed after Tattooing “RAPEST” on Teen’s Forehead

Four young Oklahoma residents were charged with kidnapping a man and tattooing “RAPEST” on an 18-year-old’s forehead, then beating him with a baseball bat and using a stun gun on him. Three of the four pleaded guilty to charges of assault and battery, while the fourth pleaded “no contest.” The victim, Stetson Johnson, told authorities the two men and two women used duct tape to restrain him while they tattooed “RAPEST,” assumedly a misspelling of “rapist,” across his forehead and “I like little boys” on his chest. The men were sentenced to ten years each, while the women were both sentenced to five. Johnson has since covered the tattoo on his face with another, and is working on getting it completely removed. AT&T Service Restored, South Florida Rejoices

After nearly four hours, AT&T has resolved whatever caused a massive wireless service outage for thousands of South Florida residents on Tuesday. At around 6 p.m., an undisclosed problem with a wireless switch caused a virtual stop in communications for wireless customers with 3G connectivity, officials said. The problem was fixed just after 10 p.m. Within minutes of the problem surfacing, people were lighting up social media sites with comments ranging from manic depression at the loss of their phone service to total and complete outrage that a media giant like AT&T could let this happen. The outage affected customers from southern Broward County through Monroe County. “AT&T technicians quickly worked to resolve the issue, and service is now running normally. We apologize for any inconvenience to our customers,” a statement read. Some customers were able to get back to texting and calling with a little help from their Facebook and Twitter friends. For those with the iPhone 3 or 4, disabling the 3G in the settings allowed the user to talk and text normally. NBC Miami

Huge beast treated like one of the family by zoo owner

To describe your child as a gorilla is a bit rude to say the least. But for French zoologists Pierre and Elaine Thivillon, who own a zoo in Saint-Martin la-Plaine near Lyon, this is exactly what their ‘little one’ is. They have fostered a gorilla called Digit who was rejected by her mother and they now treat her as their own. The unusual addition to their family was born at the zoo in 1998, but her mother did not know how to breastfeed her. The couple stepped in to bottle feed her but her health took a turn for the worse and she underwent two life-saving operations. Digit, who weighs 80 kilos, could live for up to 50 years. Mail Online

Ex-Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich GUILTY

Rod Blagojevich, the former governor of Illinois, was today found guilty of trying to sell Barack Obama’s vacant Senate seat. He was convicted on 17 charges of corruption by a jury in Chicago this afternoon, after a retrial on allegations he abused his power to extort money for campaign funds. As the verdicts were read out, the 54-year-old turned to his defence lawyer and said: ‘What happened?’. Then he sat back in his chair and whispered ‘I love you’ to his wife, Patti. He could now face up to 300 years in jail, although federal guidelines are likely to dictate he will end up with a much shorter sentence.
