Charlie Sheen set to sue CBS

It’s Charlie’s war now. Swaggering actor Charlie Sheen plans to return fire at CBS, Warner Bros. and “Two and a Half Men” creator Chuck Lorre — by slapping them with a $320 million “mental anguish” lawsuit, The Post has learned. The in-your-face legal move comes after the network declared war on its biggest star Thursday, yanking Sheen’s top-rated sitcom for the rest of the season after two bizarre, live radio interviews in which the actor tore into the show’s producers. As part of his lawsuit, which a source said will be filed as early as today, Sheen is expected to demand payment for the ninth season of the sitcom, which has yet to be filmed. Sheen is especially livid with Lorre, the source said. “All Sheen has right now is time and money to destroy that little f- -k,” the source told The Post. “Charlie’s like a samurai warrior.” The series’ cancellation came on the heels of a production halt last month, when the actor went into treatment for drug and alcohol addiction at his Beverly Hills home. Two weeks ago, Sheen declared himself sober and demanded that the studio start filming “Two and a Half Men” again. Sheen has “always shown up on time and ready to work,” the source said. “What goes on during his own time has always been his own business.” But CBS is saying not anymore — and has banned Sheen from the Warner Bros. lot where “Men” is filmed, it was reported last night. Voters in District 13, which includes Hialeah and Miami Lakes, will also decide whether to recall Miami-Dade County Commissioner Natacha Seijas. Last Friday, Mayor Alvarez’s legal challenge, which sought to block his election, was dismissed by a circuit judge. Earlier in the week, Seijas abandoned her own legal bid to derail a recall vote.

Winning $182.1 million Powerball lottery ticket sold in Florida

Powerball officials announced that one person won $182.1 million in Saturday night’s drawing and here’s the best part: The winning ticket was sold in Florida. We should have known where by the street sign: 2340 FORTUNE Road, Kissimmee. It was a quick pick. The winning Powerball numbers: 4-13-17-21-45, with a Powerball of 10. Lottery officials originally called it a $184 million jackpot, but that’s always an estimate. The real number is $182.1 million, they said. That’s just short of the $189 million by Dr. William Steele in Orlando in October 2009. And it’s the fourth Powerball winnner since the game came to Florida in January 2009. The lone South Florida winner: a $73.8 million take from Palm Beach Gardens, in a ticket sold to a Hollywood woman. Read more: Sun Sentinel

Slap-Happy Stripper Sentenced to Anger Management

A woman who took out her bus riding frustrations on a county transit bus driver has been ordered to attend anger-management courses to deal with her issues. Nikita Cassandra Cazeau, 20, is the angry bus rider in surveillance video taken in October that captured her unprovoked tirade and slap-happy attack. She was angry because 72-year-old Tassos Kostoupolos had told her he couldn’t give her a ride unless she paid the $1.75 bus fare. Cazeau demanded the free ride and then slapped the bus driver so hard, his glasses went flying. Cazeau jumped off the bus before cops could arrive. Read more: NBCMiami

Wives are the first to tire of marriage

Women grow weary of their marriage more swiftly than men, a major study has found. Researchers have embarked on a project to follow the lives of 40,000 British households to establish what makes us happy. Its initial findings show the happiest couples are married, childless and educated to degree level. The man is also in employment and the couple are less than five years into their relationship. Strikingly, after this point happiness levels tail off, with a steeper decline for women than for men. Relationship experts believe this is because women do more to maintain the relationship than men by looking after the home and remembering important dates such as relatives’ birthdays. While women do not mind this in the first flush of love, they grow to resent their husbands for not pulling their weight. The survey also revealed cohabiting couples were significantly less happy in their relationships than those who married. Read more: Daily Mail

‘Texas will have virtually no whites by 2040′

The former official in charge of compiling the US Census has warned for Texas ‘it’s basically over for Anglos’. Demographer Steve Murdock explained that two out of every three Texas children are now non-white and the trend will become even more extreme. Between 2000 and 2040, the state’s public schools will see a 15 per cent decline in white children, with Hispanic children numbers up a whopping 213 per cent, he said. ‘It’s a terrible situation that you [Texas] are in. I am worried,’ Murdock told the House Mexican American Legislative Caucus. Currently the director of the Hobby Center for the Study of Texas at Rice University, he pointed out that today’s Texas population can be divided into two groups – an old and aging white population and one that is young and minority. By 2040 the state’s largest county – Harris – will have 516,000 fewer whites that lived in the whole Houston area in 2000, with Hispanic numbers up by 2.5million during the same period, assuming net migration is up 50 per cent on 1990 to 2000. With most of the state population growth coming naturally, about 22 per cent will be accounted for by people moving from other states to Texas. Of the 254 counties in the state, 79 said population fell during the past 20 years – all of them in rural areas, and if it was not for Hispanic growth a further 30 counties would see declines.
