Ex Alcalde de West Miami Cesar Carasa pierde en las elecciones
Suspended West Miami Mayor Cesar Carasa, removed from office by Governor Crist after he was charged with racking up tens of thousands of dollars in personal charges on a city owned cellphone, lost his bid to win his office back in Tuesday’s West Miami election. The man who replaced him, Eduardo Muhiña, beat Carasa by almost 3 to 1 in the mayoral race where just 24 percent of the registered voters turned out. Muhiña took 563 votes, while Carasa earned 191 votes. Even had Carasa won, Governor Crist office had said the governor would have considered suspending him again.
A retired British couple say they were banned from airplane seats with more legroom for which they paid extra because they were deemed “too old” to sit there. Marion Webb, 77, and her husband Derek, 79, paid an extra $150 on top of their $3,600 fare for a March 15 flight from Bristol, England, to Egypt on Thomson Airways, the Daily Mail reported Friday.
