La controversia del concierto que presentara Juanes en la Plaza de la Revolucion en Cuba, ha causado que la comunidad de Miami se divida, a tal grado que se esta hablando de quemar sus discos y hasta se ha dicho que quieren atentar fisicamente en contra del artista.

Nosotros como latinos debemos de estar unidos, sin importar banderas y si en algo no estamos de acuerdo, no hacer el ridiculo ni lucir como payasos ante la comunidad internacional. A Juanes hay que darle el beneficio de la duda, tal vez el no sabe realmente lo que pasa en Cuba, pero asumo que si sabe del dolor que este regimen le ha causado a su jente por mas de 50 anos.  Entiendo su buena intencion de ir a cantarle al pueblo Cubano, pero porque no entre los invitados, se permite la asistencia de las Damas de Blanco, tambien invitar a Los Aldeanos y a Panfilo…porque no? Acaso no son ellos tambien “pueblo cubano”?

Se hizo un sondeo en vivo, sin censura en mi Show, preguntando “deberia Juanes ir a cuba a dar un concierto el La Plaza de La Revolucion?”. Recibimos muchisimas llamadas, pero tomamos 100 de ellas, los resultados bien cerca durante toda la encuesta, finalmente el “NO” gano con 51 llamadas y el “SI” con 49.

En este concierto al aire libre, pueden pasar muchas cosas, podrian haber reacciones tanto de los artistas que van a estar ahi, como del pueblo.  Cantara Juanes como afirmo en la entrevista en Aqui y Ahora el tema Es Tiempo de Cambiar…???  Habra microfono abierto como el lo afirmo, le impondran reglas de lo que se puede decir o no? Dejemos que pase el concierto, si es que llega a realizarse, y haber cuales son los resultados.

Doctors at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami have amputated the right arm of a South Florida teen which was severely injured in a horrific hit and run accident last week.

Investigators are asking the public to keep an eye out for the car involved which is pictured here. Police believe it’s either a silver Mitsubishi or Grand Prix with front-end damage.

Anyone with information on the car or its driver is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. — Rescuers failed in a frantic bid to save a mother whale off a South Florida beach Monday as hundreds looked on, many in tears. The animal survived despite efforts to keep him alive with moist towels and umbrellas to protect their drying skin from the scorching sun. A team of marine mammal specialists tried to save the distressed whale after he became trapped in shallow waters at Hollywood beach, just north of Miami. Swimmers spotted the whales around 1 p.m. in waist-deep water and tried to encourage him to head back toward deeper water. The whale briefly swam away, but returned and headed toward the beach. The Whale – which experts from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration identified as a beaked whale also known as the machete whale  – was about 10 to 12 feet long and weight about a ton.

Aunque no lo apoya oficialmente, el gobierno de Estados Unidos está en favor de un controversial concierto de paz programado para realizarse en La Habana en septiembre con la participación del cantautor colombiano Juanes y otros afamados artistas estadounidenses, latinoamericanos y españoles, informó un vocero del Departamento de Estado a El Nuevo Herald.

“No estamos apoyando oficialmente el concierto, pero el Departamento de Estado está en favor de este tipo de intercambios culturales por cuanto aumentan el entendimiento de los pueblos”, dijo el portavoz a El Nuevo Herald.

Una emisora FM ayer martes 4 de Agosto se dio a la tarea de sembrar un rumor de que al destacado periodista Oscar Haza le habian hecho un atentado en que supuestamente le pusieron una bomba en su carro, causando el panico entre sus familiares y personas allegadas a el.  Oscar Aza visito el Show de Enrique Santos para aclarar estos falsos rumores.

In a series of events that Broward Sheriff Al Lamberti called “an abuse of power” and “a tarnish to the badge,” law enforcement agents arrested one of their own Monday and accused him of sexually assaulting victims — while in his uniform, in marked vehicles and on the job.

Jonathan Bleiweiss, 29, of Fort Lauderdale, who in March was honored as employee of the year for the Broward Sheriff’s Office’s Oakland Park District, was booked at 11 a.m. on 14 charges, including sexual battery, false imprisonment and stalking in connection with abusing one of the victims, a 30-year-old male. Bleiweiss was held without bail Monday.

Investigators said Monday they were preparing to file charges involving seven more male victims, and said there might be even more. Though he may seem an unlikley music star, Pope Benedict XVI has signed a major record deal with Geffen Records, whose artists include Snoop Dogg and Ashlee Simpson.

According to USA Today, the pope will release “Alma Mater,” featuring chants and prayers to the Virgin Mary along with eight original classical compositions, on Nov. 30.

A portion of the profits from sales will support music education for underprivileged children around the world.
